Federal Association of judges is independent, professional association of judges from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina created on September 13, 1996.
The highest body of the Federal Association of Judges is the Assembly of the Association.
Executive body is the Presidency that has 17 (seventeen) members and provides activity reports to the Assembly. The Association creates Branches. Each Branch of the Association exists within one Cantonal Court and consists out of all members of the Association from that area. Work at the Association is voluntary.

Boards of the Association:

  • The Board for the public relations
  • The Board for the implementation of the Law on Judical and Prosecutorial Service of the Federation of B& H
  • The Board for changes and amendments of several laws (Criminal Code, Law on Criminal Procedure and Law on civil procedure)


Membership:
Membership in the Association is on a voluntary basis. 320 judges signed admission forms, but all judges in the Federation (578) are members of the Association because they are paying the memebership fees and actively participating in activities of this Association even if they didn't sign the admission forms.
Formal absence of their membership (unsigned admission form) will be declined by signing those admission forms by judges in the Federation of BiH.
Our intention is to include more judges in the activities of this Association: working group for changes and amendments of the Law; Seminars organized by the Association; active participation in preparing Seminar; transparency of Association activities (upon distribution of Bulletin people showed interest for activities of the Association); holding Presidency Sessions in the Cantonal Court headquarters (each Session should be held in the a different Canton) which strengthens principle of democracy, etc.

The Association employs, on professional basis, one Assistant.

Basic program goals of the Associoation are:

  • Consistent implementation of the Constitution;
  • Strengthening indepedence of judical government;
  • Affirmation of human rights;
  • Professional education of judges (organizing seminars, counseling sessions, conferences and study trips)
  • Providing opinion of law drafts;
  • Initiating changes of laws and other regulations;
  • Cooperating with local and foreing associations
